This report is part one of a two part series.  It is intended to provide a general overview of the private sector in Timor-Leste while improving both knowledge of and access to domestic businesses. Part two, which is forthcoming, will examine the national landscape.

The assessments in the report are derived from the database of businesses developed by Peace Dividend Trust and its Peace Dividend Marketplace Timor-Leste (PDM-TL) project.

Data collection occurred between 1 November 2007 and 30 September 2009.  During this period, a total of 2,384 businesses were surveyed.  Individual profiles of businesses can be found on the PDM-TL Online Procurement Database
