The Timor-Leste Online Business Portal includes resources for both buyers and suppliers. Its key feature is a local supplier directory containing a comprehensive  directory featuring full business profiles of over 2,700 local companies organized by sector and location. The inclusion of each local company in the directory is based on an on-site interview.  Businesses are then verified on an ongoing basis. The directory enables international organizations and institutional buyers to gain easy access to Timorese suppliers, who can provide goods and services for their business needs.

 

PDT's Business Development Services facilitate transactions with local suppliers by helping international and national agencies and companies identify cost-competitive and high-quality locally produced goods and services.  The Peace Dividend Marketplace Project - Timor-Leste Business Matchmaking team strategically focuses on creating bsuiness relationships in rurla areas - providing a significant economic stimulus in the poorest patrts of the country. PDT has worked with institutional buyers such as the  Government of Timor-Leste; AusAID; the United Nations and its agencies; and a wide range of domestic and international businesses.

PDT's Tender Distribution Services in Timor-Leste collect tenders from the international community to provide a "one stop shop" for Timorese businesses looking for new business opportunities.  PDT distributes tenders directly to local companies by email, SMS (which is currently being tested) and on-site.  For interested companies, PDT staff will provide individual assistance in submitting proposals. PDT maintains a Tender Directory avaliable on the Business Portal that helps companies locate and access information about tenders nationwide.

In addition to producing District Business Guides and a Buy Local map for Baucau, PDT maintain s a Peace Dividend Marketplace - Timor-Leste blog blog that fill valuable niches for international workers and local residents alike.

 

PDT has also released two interesting reports on the Timor-Leste Business Community aimed to improve both knowledge and access to domestic businesses. The reports is a two part series. The first report provides a general overview on the private sector in Timor-Leste, the second examines the national employment landscape.
